Sam Tayebi is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nickan Scientific and Innovations LLC, a New Jersey-based deep-tech company pioneering AI-powered neurodiagnostic technologies. He is the inventor of QuietScan™, a portable, non-invasive focused ultrasound helmet designed to map brain activity in real time for infants and minimally verbal children.

With a strong background in leadership, innovation, and medical technology development, Sam is driven by a deeply personal mission: to give a voice to children who cannot speak for themselves. As the father of two autistic children, he experienced firsthand the limitations of current diagnostic tools and the urgent need for faster, safer, and more accessible brain imaging technologies for young children.

Sam Tayebi is currently a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate at Liberty University, with a focus on leadership and innovation in healthcare technology. 

He holds an MBA in Leadership from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. 

He has also completed the prestigious Harvard Business School: Launching Tech Ventures certificate program, further strengthening his expertise in building and scaling technology companies.

Sam Tayebi’s vision is to transform pediatric neurodiagnostic by combining focused ultrasound, artificial intelligence, and genetic calibration into practical, child-friendly solutions. 

He believes that early, accurate, and non-invasive brain mapping can dramatically improve outcomes for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions — especially those who are minimally verbal and currently underserved by traditional imaging technologies such as MRI and EEG.

He is committed to building technologies that are not only clinically effective but also accessible, ethical, and designed with real families in mind.

Sam is the sole inventor of five U.S. provisional patents related to QuietScan™ and its underlying technologies. Under his leadership, Nickan Scientific secured a $40,000 Catalyst R&D Voucher from the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology (CSIT) in partnership with Montclair State University. The company is actively advancing toward FDA 510(k) clearance as a Class II diagnostic device.

Sam’s mission is to close the critical gap in early neurodevelopmental diagnostics by creating safe, fast, and portable brain mapping technologies that work for children — not just around them. 

He is building Nickan Scientific not only as a company, but as a platform for meaningful clinical impact and long-term value creation in New Jersey’s growing life sciences ecosystem.
